One of my favourite books as a kid full of fun and games

This is a really fun book about a postman delivering mail by bicycle to fairy tale and nursery rhyme characters on Christmas Eve。 It is especially great if you have a copy that still has all the little pieces in it: games, postcards, mini books, etc, that are sent between the characters。 Very charming。

It's no longer Christmas, but I do have several reviews left to post and this book especially, is a must have for younger children, my daughter absolutely delighted in this book。 If you haven't experienced this book before with your minis then I highly recommend you put it on your list for next Christmas, this book is a series of letters which include a jigsaw puzzle, a teeny book, a game, gorgeous pictures and more, theres a surprise on every page。 It's no longer Christmas, but I do have several reviews left to post and this book especially, is a must have for younger children, my daughter absolutely delighted in this book。 If you haven't experienced this book before with your minis then I highly recommend you put it on your list for next Christmas, this book is a series of letters which include a jigsaw puzzle, a teeny book, a game, gorgeous pictures and more, theres a surprise on every page。 。。。more

Such a clever undertaking that brings favorite storybook characters and Christmas together。 Plan to explore in two or three sittings as there is much to discover。

Absolutely adorable。 The pictures are sweet, the deliveries made by the postman to different fairy tale characters are clever, but the best part is reading the mail that each character received。 My grandson was mesmerized。

There is also a unique pop up/activity book element because this book comes with little envelopes that hold the letters mentioned in the book。 Some of the deliveries are magazines and booklets with hilarious columns to read; others are puzzles or games to play … and there’s even a little “peep show” card for the postman, which acts like a shadowbox filled with all the characters he made deliveries to! I love books like this so much。 We had the prequel to this growing up (we somehow kept all the little inserts and letters where they needed to go!) and I never knew there were two other books in the series! What a fun find!! 。。。more

Purchased for my niece for Christmas but I couldn't resist "previewing" it! A warm, wonderful book full of favourite characters and surprises。 The wit and detail in all the "extras" (including a Humpty Dumpty jigsaw so you can put him back together again yourself。。。) is amazing。 Purchased for my niece for Christmas but I couldn't resist "previewing" it! I'd forgotten how brilliant this book was!Such a simple idea of a postman delivering letter to various classic fairytale characters but with the added bonus of various surprises in each envelope。Starting with a Christmas Card for Baby Bear that included a very funny joke from Goldilocks, whilst The Gingerbread Man received a book within a book - honestly this had everything。There's hours of fun to be had with the board game for Red Riding Hood and of course Humpty Dumpty received a jigsaw puzzle I'd forgotten how brilliant this book was!Such a simple idea of a postman delivering letter to various classic fairytale characters but with the added bonus of various surprises in each envelope。Starting with a Christmas Card for Baby Bear that included a very funny joke from Goldilocks, whilst The Gingerbread Man received a book within a book - honestly this had everything。There's hours of fun to be had with the board game for Red Riding Hood and of course Humpty Dumpty received a jigsaw puzzle!Certainly one for the who family to enjoy over Christmas。 。。。more

2。5 starsThis book has pockets shaped like envelopes on some pages so you can take out a puzzle, letter or a card related to the story。 There wasn't much of a storyline apart from cards delivered and it being Christmas time。 I have really enjoyed some books by this author and illustrator, husband and wife duo, but this wasn't one of them。 The pockets might be a fun aspect for a child。 2。5 starsThis book has pockets shaped like envelopes on some pages so you can take out a puzzle, letter or a card related to the story。 There wasn't much of a storyline apart from cards delivered and it being Christmas time。 I have really enjoyed some books by this author and illustrator, husband and wife duo, but this wasn't one of them。 The pockets might be a fun aspect for a child。 。。。more

A great Christmas version of the Jolly Postman。 Each page has a different character's story and a letter addressed to them。 A great book to widen children's understanding of fairy tales through a fun and interactive story。 Rather than just letters, there are posters, books, cards and games sent to the characters, this helps to show children the different text types there are。 Children could create their own card or letter for one of the characters in the book or another fairy tale character。 A n A great Christmas version of the Jolly Postman。 Each page has a different character's story and a letter addressed to them。 A great book to widen children's understanding of fairy tales through a fun and interactive story。 Rather than just letters, there are posters, books, cards and games sent to the characters, this helps to show children the different text types there are。 Children could create their own card or letter for one of the characters in the book or another fairy tale character。 A nice book to use with FS and year 1 children。 。。。more

Cute and creative! It's too bad that the copy I received from the library was missing nearly all of the included envelopes' contents。 Luckily, a video of the book being read on YouTube filled my son and me in, but it wasn't the same as seeing and interacting with the items ourselves。 Cute and creative! This book is full of surprises that make it very fun。 The pages that contain letters/inserts look very authentic, like real letters one would get in the mail。 The details on the letters, such as the stamps and postmarks, are very fun but also add to the authentic nature of this book。 The text is simple and rhythmic。 The illustrations are very bright and cheery like you would expect in a book about Christmas and fairy tales。

This would make a lovely Christmas present for younger readers! I was surprised to see that as well as the letters, there's a board game and a jigsaw, which is perfect for playing during the holiday season。 My copy was borrowed from a friend and fellow Oxfam volunteer, who has saved it from when she had young children, who are now all grown up。 But she says that because they are such lovely books she's saved them。 Books to treasure。 This would make a lovely Christmas present for younger readers! I absolutely love this book, another favourite for my sister and I when we were younger。 The author creates a unique story through joining classic fairytales and their characters such as little red riding hood and the three little pigs into one storyline。 The author uses a similar style of writing along with rhyme which adds to the effect of the text。 In addition, as this text follows a postman delivering mail to the different characters there are physical envelopes with different materials such I absolutely love this book, another favourite for my sister and I when we were younger。 The author creates a unique story through joining classic fairytales and their characters such as little red riding hood and the three little pigs into one storyline。 The author uses a similar style of writing along with rhyme which adds to the effect of the text。 In addition, as this text follows a postman delivering mail to the different characters there are physical envelopes with different materials such as puzzles and postcards to enhance the story。 I think this is such a fun way to bring the literature to life and is very exciting to young children。 。。。more
